JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Cougars move to 2 & 0 following their 81-56 home opening win over the Union Patriots. The victory made it an Orange-n-Blue sweep after the Lady Cougars won 67-54.

Campbell didn’t start so fast at Lenoir City on Tuesday, but it did tonight. Though the Cougars were ahead by 16 at intermission, 39-23, Union stormed back to make it a single-digit game before Campbell rang up 23 fourth quarter points.

Gavin Cox and Gavin Owens led the way with 17 points a piece while Freshman Jake Hatmaker came off the bench to knockdown 14 points. Elsewhere, Logan Day had eight while his twin, Jordan, and Tyler Kitts each tallied six. Gabe St. John had four, three each came from Luke Browning, Dylan Ford and Cole Miller. Ethan Dorton, Will Croley, Keegan Nelson and Brady Hatmaker all played and did not score.

Campbell plays the Hancock Indians Tuesday at 6pm on the second night of the Elevation and K.O.C. Invitational at Tazewell. Claiborne High is hosting the tourney.
