Mabel Phillips, age 78 of Caryville, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. She was born on December 1, 1944, to the late Sam Phillips and Altie Phillips. Mabel was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, shopping, and flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband Cecil Phillips; infant son Eddie Phillips; great- grandchild Alexa Ivey; brothers Arzo Phillips, Arvil Phillips, and Audie Phillips; sisters Geneva Jones, Verdie Phillips, and Grace Spence; son-in-law Rex Hickey.

Mabel is survived by her son Ronald Phillips of Caryville; daughters Tina Ward and Kevin of LaFollette, Carrie Phillips Carroll and Chuck of Knoxville; Jeanette Prater of Jacksboro; and Teresa Lucas and William of Caryville; grandchildren Savannah Rudl and husband Nick, Jacob Mynatt and girlfriend Marie Clayton, Anthony Lucas and wife Brooke, Andrea Lucas and Fiancé Westley Markett, Carla Kenney and husband Mike, Rex Hickey and wife Paula, and Bryce Hickey and wife Kara; great-grandchildren Liam Rudl, Brooklyn Mynatt, Ava Markett, Bentley Markett, Aiden Hickey, Addalynn Hickey, Matthew Hickey, Connor Hickey, Bryleigh Hickey, and Gracen Lucas; special sister-in-law Inez Carson and husband Bobby; and a host of other relatives and friends

A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, November 10, 2023, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Thomas Adkins officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 AM at Martin Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, November 11, 2023, to go in funeral procession to Powell Valley Cemtery for an 11:00 AM interment.
