LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- Dr. Gerald and Mrs. JoAnne Troutman of LaFollette are announcing the wedding of their daughter Martha E. Troutman to John N. Derr, of Slaterville Springs, NY.  The couple was married on Sat., Aug. 26 at historic ClaiHill Farm in ceremony attended by family and friends. John, the son of Barbara Smith and David Derr, is the father of three children: Katie, Iz, and JoJo.

John Derr and Martha Troutman married in August in a colorful ceremony; here with their vintage camper, and an inflatable rainbow that served as décor in their creative wedding.

The over-qualified and well-loved Rev. Dr. Ray Penn, pastor, mentor, and giraffe lover, officiated the ceremony.  Afterwards the guests enjoyed brunch catered by Doorway Gourmet and C.C.’s Cakes. The celebration later ventured onto Norris Lake for a full weekend of aquatic activities

Martha, a LaFollette native, lives in Nashville where she met John through close mutual friends who still haven’t settled who was responsible for bringing them together.

The couple, both fond of exploring the great outdoors and live music, met in 2018 at the world-famous Ryman Auditorium. Both are the youngest of six children and play trombone. It was meant to be.

The ceremony grounds were beautifully and creatively decorated with giant inflatable pool floats and inflatable yard sprinklers in all shapes and sizes. From 10-foot unicorns and flamingos, toucans and peacocks, ducks and swans to the 40-foot rainbow slip-and-slide wedding aisle, the spirit of their fun and quirky romance was literally in the air.

The couple created an online photo album for guests and others to share and view the inflatable wedding: CLICK HERE TO VIEW.
