Janice Phillips Stooksbury, age 72, of Jacksboro passed away Saturday, October 28, 2023. She was a faithful member of LaFollette Church of Christ, a graduate of Jacksboro High School and The University of Tennessee. She retired after 34 years with the Campbell County School System as a longtime Kindergarten teacher. After retirement she went on to practice private tutoring as she loved teaching children. Her love of bright colors from clothes to lipstick were a reflection of her personality.

Preceded in death by Parents: Willmer and Alice Vinsant Phillips, Grandparents: Frank and Mabel Vinsant; James and Martha Phillips.

Son: Brandon and wife Lara Stooksbury

Granddaughters: Ainsley and Makenna

Beloved Friend and Cousin: Linda Weaver

Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and other relatives and friends.

She loved her grandchildren, friends and church family dearly.

Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Thursday, November 2nd at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 7 PM, Minister Ben Shafer officiating. Family and friends will meet 10:15 AM Friday at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Campbell Memorial Gardens for 11 AM Interment.
