LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A North Carolina woman blew through the Friday afternoon school zone at La Follette Middle School like there was nothing to it.

“The Chevy Trailblazer was heading east at least at 50 miles per hour in the 25 mph school zone passing vehicles in the median. Sgt. Melissa Phillips and I attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the La Follette Elementary School zone, East Central Avenue and Myers Lane,” said LPD Officer Isaiah Lloyd.

Lloyd followed the 2023 gray Chevy into the valley construction zone with a top speed of 76 mph in the 45 mph work zone. The driver of the Chevy, 41-year old Annahita Rosebach of Charlotte, pulled over onto the shoulder not far from Big O’s Valley, according to Lloyd’s report.

Rosebach allegedly told Lloyd she was “running from the negative energy.” She told the officers she regularly takes Xanax as Rosebach passed field sobriety tests.

Charges levied against Rosebach are felony evading, drivers to exercise due care, reckless driving and speeding. She remains housed this morning in the Campbell County Jail without bond and awaits a November court date. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/25/2023-6AM)
