LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – David Greene and his son were guest speakers at the South Campbell County Rotary Club luncheon on Tuesday.

Greene manages the family farm with his son Tyler and his family.

“Tyler is a fifth generation farmer and came home this year to run the farm full time with me,” David Greene said.

The Greenes spoke about starting the farm market and selling quality Angus beef and other farm products.

All of their beef is grown on the farm. They offer 27 different cuts of beef, as well as multiple cuts of pork. During gardening season, they have fresh vegetables. They also sell farm fresh eggs, canned goods, ice cream, sweet treats and more.

The Greenes do not ship anything in from outside.

“We’re trying to promote local stuff only,” Tyler Greene said.

The family also tries to give back to the community and has partnered with Second Harvest Foodbank to help feed families here in Campbell County. They also work with area 4-H groups, selling eggs raised by 4-H chickens raised by local students.

David Greene grew up on a dairy farm and said he started out in 4-H himself.

He gave some background on how he got interested in cattle and farming.

“I always liked feeding cows and understanding how that affected them. Mom and dad said I had to get a college education, even though I didn’t want to,” David Greene said.

He graduated from the University of Tennessee in three and a half years and milked cows two times a day through school.

“I got a job after school working for the Conagra feed company on the production side. Then I went to work for another company, Diamond B, doing tech support all over the world, China, Panama and other places,” David Greene said.

He currently does his own private nutrition work in the U.S and is focusing on the farm and the store.

He works with consulting in the cattle business for operations that have anywhere from 125 cows to 125,000 cows.

“I love cows, I love feeding them and watching them do well,” David Greene said.

He and Tyler shared the exciting news that in the future they plan to serve meals at the store as well as have tours of the farm.

“We are very blessed, and we appreciate the county. It’s the locals that keep us going,” David Greene said.

“The amount of support from our local area has floored us,” Tyler Greene said.

  1. The festival they had the past 2 Saturday nights was fantastic. We had their burgers and brisket sandwiches. By far the best burger! They offer freezer bundles that are extremely reasonable for the quality of the meat. Raised local… sold local…SHOP LOCAL!
