LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A silver 2000 Toyota Corrolla with a non-working tag light caught the attention of LaFollette Police Officer Austin Tindell on West Central Ave. Tindell stopped the vehicle on Sep. 26, and found Kyle Ayers in the front passenger seat and Cliff Ayers in the right rear passenger seat. Tindell spoke with a female who was driving the car that stated she did not know about the tag lights. Tindell asked for everyone’s ID in the car. Kyle Ayers stated that he did not have an ID but could give me his name and date of birth, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.
A check of the names confirmed that Kyle Ayers had an active warrant out of Campbell County. While Kyle Ayers was being placed under arrest after Sgt. Shane Tielman spotted a capped needle in the vehicle’s passenger door. At this point, everyone was ask to step out of the vehicle so the vehicle could be searched. Cliff Ayers told Sgt. Tielman that he had a thing of Suboxone in his pocket without a prescription. While searching the vehicle a backpack was found that Cliff Ayers confirmed was his. Inside the backpack was an eye glass case with several capped needles and a broken glass pipe with residue believed to be Methamphetamine inside of the backpack. The duo was placed under arrest and transported to the Campbell County Jail.
Kyle Lane Ayers, 19, 129 Potters Hill, Clairfield was charged with domestic assault.
Cliff Justin Ayers, 40, 129 Potters Hill Lane, Clairfield was charged with possession of schedule III controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/06/2023-6AM)
