Med chopper to fly out motorcycle wreck victim within minutes

Motorcycle hits passenger side of van. Two month old child in van is being checked out by CC EMS.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A Harley-Davidson motorcycle hit the side of a Dodge Caravan this afternoon, according to reports from officials on the scene of the accident. The wreck occurred just as Pre-K classes were being dismissed from Valley View School, a time when the school zone flashing lights are not activated.

The accident took place at 1:30pm on the Old Middlesboro Highway in front of Valley View Elementary School.

Officials said a 53-year- old male was riding the motorcycle that struck the van. A first responder firefighter was the first to arrive and was soon followed by a crew with the Campbell County EMS.

The man was tended to at the scene and then transported by the ground EMS to the helipad at the La Follette Medical Center where he will be flown out within minutes. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/03/2023-2PM)
