JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Six Lady Cougar Soccer Seniors, after two postponements, and their escorts were honored on Senior Night on a soggy Campbell Soccer Field. Monday’s scheduled game with Powell was pushed from Monday to Tuesday to Wednesday.

Jordan Asher

“She is a tough player who overcame injury and worked her way back to playing. Jordan defended the top opponent and played hard. I am so proud of her,” said Coach Erik Hill.

Jordan Asher is a 14-year soccer player with plans to become a physical therapist. She is escorted by Nathan and April Asher.

Meredith Bell

“Meredith is one of our captains and serves as the event planner of the team. She’s relied upon for team unity and has endless energy. Meredith’s leadership role is awesome,” said Coach Hill.

Meredith Bell has played soccer for five years, and she plans to become a physical therapist assistant. Her escorts are Heather and Jason Matlock.

Raegan Belew

“She is a born leader and leads by example. Raegan is also a captain, and she never misses a game or a practice. She’s a quiet leader you appreciate as a coach,” said the coach.

Raegan Belew, a four year starter and team captain the past two seasons, looks to become a math teacher. Andy and Ashley Belew are her escorts.

Casey Clark

“Casey is the player we rely on to take all the free kicks, and she has a absolute monster leg. She’s a tough player and defender, and it’s an honor to work with her,” said Coach Erik Hill.

Casey Clark has been playing soccer since she was five and loves hearing the fans make the woosh sound. She’s going to study Culinary Arts, and she where it takes her. Ashli Clark is her escort.

Emily Cowell

“She is a quiet leader and an excellent student. Emily is the JV Captain, and she is one of those quiet leaders that you need on the team,” said Coach Hill.

Emily Cowell has played four years for the Cougars, 12 years of soccer in all. Her fondest memory is getting her first varsity start at the Smoky Mountain Cup. Emily plans to become a physicist or a biochemist. Wayne and Amber Cowell are her escorts.

Marissa Nelson

“Marissa is another defender, and she is fast. She’s not a afraid of anything. Marissa always holds her own versus the best players,” said the coach.

Marissa Nelson has played soccer for 10 years and looks to become an elementary educator. She is escorted by Bethany and Neil Nelson.
