JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – The Eighth Judicial District Recovery graduated four participants on Fri., Sept. 15.  The ceremony was attended by current participants, the Recovery Court Team, lawyers, service providers, law enforcement, and many family members whose relationships were repaired and restored throughout the 18-24 month program time frame.

Judge Zachary Walden praised participants for their accomplishments which included, for some, getting their driver’s license reinstated, getting their diploma, and becoming gainfully employed. All graduates completed Moral Reconation Therapy which is a cognitive-behavioral treatment system that leads to enhanced moral reasoning and better decision making.

On Friday, (left to right) Ashley Carver Myers, Gwen North, Rodrik Brown and Michael “Jake” Ballinger graduated recovery court. They were joined in the celebration by (center) Judge Zach Walden.

Graduates being honored included: Ashley Carver Myers Claiborne County, Gwen North Claiborne County, Rodrik Brown Claiborne County and Michael “Jake” Ballinger, Union County.
