JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Every Friday WLAF features a local business as our business of the week. This week we decided to tip our hat to the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and highlight all this organization does for our county and local businesses!

The Chamber of Commerce plays an important role in supporting local businesses and promoting economic growth in the county.

The Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is a “member driven organization that aims to promote and protect the interests of local businesses in Campbell County,” according to Chamber Director Missy Tackett.

The Chamber of Commerce provides a range of services to its members including networking opportunities, advocacy, and support for businesses in the community.

“Our Mission is to promote and foster business and tourism in Campbell County and to enhance the quality of life in our community. Our Vision is to strengthen the local economy and serve as the voice of business in the community and to help create the best community in which to live, work and do business,” Tackett said.

One of the chamber’s main purposes is to “create a strong business community by bringing together business owners and professionals.”

By facilitating networking events such as the Chamber’s Coffee Connection and other opportunities for members to connect, the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce “helps businesses build relationships with each other and create partnerships that can lead to increased sales and growth opportunities.”

Another way the chamber supports businesses is with its Chamber Business of the Month, which spotlights a Chamber Member each month.

Nominations of Chamber Members are requested monthly and are put on a Wheel of Names that picks the winner, which takes place on Facebook Live.

“We present the business with a certificate of recognition and the business also receives a standing sign to display for the entire month recognizing them as Business of the Month. This is a great way to spotlight our members and recognize them throughout the year. Our September Business of the Month is Mugs Ice Cream,” Tackett said.

The Chamber’s annual Pig Roast is set for Tuesday, October 24th at Knobby Hill Farm.

The Chamber of Commerce is located at 1016 Main Street in Jacksboro. For more information, call the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce at 423.566.0329, visit their website at campbellcountychamber.com or check them out on Facebook!

“We always have a great time with music, food and a live and silent auction. More details and ticket information will be announced soon,” Tackett said.

According to Tackett, tourism is also a large part of the Chamber of Commerce.

The Chamber works to support and promote tourism in our county and also works with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development on marketing opportunities to spotlight Campbell County attractions and events.

“By supporting the growth of tourism in our region, our office can help to stimulate economic activity and create jobs. This can benefit not only local businesses, but also the community as a whole,” Tackett said.

By providing a range of services and advocating on behalf of its members to help businesses thrive and grow, the Chamber contributes to the well-being of the community as a whole. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/15/2023-6AM)
