Lacy “Butch” Smith, age 72, of Knoxville TN passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, after a 2-year struggle with lung cancer at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1951, in LaFollette, TN, was a member of Coolidge First Baptist Church in LaFollette and enjoyed reading his Bible and praying as well as playing guitar, singing and walking in the mall. Lacy retired from American Safety Razor Company after 20 years of loyal service. Lacy also served as a pastor at the church in LaFollette for a few years and remained a faithful servant of our Lord and Savior the remainder of his life.

Lacy is preceded in death by his mother: Rosie Broyles Smith and father Parlon Smith, foster mother: Nora Lee “Mama Lee”, brother: Frank Smith and foster sister Cindy Lee.

Daughters: Alma Parks of Cleveland TN, Althea and Will Aycock of Asheville NC and Lori Ann Lowe of Harriman TN

Grandchildren: Ashley Nichole Parks, Brittany Gallman, Coleby Daugherty, Ty Aycock, “Lil” Jesse Parks Hickey and Alivia Aycock

Family will receive friends 12 to 1 PM Monday, September 18th Cross-Smith Funeral Home with service following at 1 PM Cross-Smith Chapel. Interment following the service at Bakers Forge Cemetery.
