DUFF, TN (WLAF) – A 48 year old Duff woman continues recovering this morning from a stab wound suffered last Monday in her home. The man accused of stabbing her, her long time boyfriend, is housed in the Campbell County Jail after being arrested on Thursday.

Prior to Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremy Goins interviewing the victim last week at a Knoxville hospital, he spoke with members of the medical staff, and they confirmed the woman had suffered a stab wound to her chest. They also confirmed the incident occurred at the home, a camper, she shares with her boyfriend at 5154 White Oak Road.

Based on the report from the CCSO, Deputy Goins learned from the victim that she was stabbed by her boyfriend of eight years with a knife she described as a “small tater knife.” She went on to say the knife was a small, green handle kitchen knife.

The woman stated in the report that the argument was over her possession of meth and $200. The boyfriend, 44-year old Johnny Lynn Marlow of Duff, became angry according to the woman, because she wouldn’t give up the meth or cash. “I told him I was leaving him,” she allegedly said. That’s when Marlow began striking her and pushing her eventually stabbing her, she added.

“He went to the floor with me and kneed me in the ribs, and I was able to hit him with an object, get free and run to my Jeep,” she told police. Based on the report, Marlow imprisoned her in the Jeep until he left the vehicle to go to the bathroom, Monday at 9am (Sep. 4), and she drove away to her daughter’s home. Marlow reportedly made off with the meth and the cash.

On Thursday morning, the CCSO SWAT Team executed a search warrant at the camper where the offenses occurred. The knife, described by the victim, was recovered in the kitchen. Deputy Goins adds that a blanket was found with blood on it on the couch.

Deputies located Marlow at the home and placed him into custody. Marlow, interviewed by Deputy Goins, denied any altercation between himself and his girlfriend.

Charges against Marlow include possession of schedule VI controlled substance, aggravated domestic assault, aggravated robbery and false imprisonment.

Marlow remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning on a $150,000 secured bond and is due in court on Thursday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/11/2023-6A)
