JoAnn Dudley Jones departed this life to her heavenly home on Friday, August 11, 2023.  She was born November 16, 1939 to the late Joseph J. and Vera H. (Smith) Dudley. 

JoAnn was a graduate of LaFollette High School and the University of Tennessee.  She obtained a Bachelor and Master’s Degree.  JoAnn was an avid reader and the librarian for many years at Jacksboro Elementary School.  She loved the Reading Corner and the numerous book fairs she conducted.  She was a retired Campbell County teacher, and also taught piano lessons for many years. 

JoAnn loved to travel, camp, and hike.  Over the years, she and Ernest traveled coast to coast and all the way up Highway 1 in California.  There were trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Mexico, England, France, Italy, Germany, and Switzerland, to name a few, from which there were countless pictures and memories made.

JoAnn loved her church and was a lifelong member of Fincastle Methodist Church.  She played the organ and piano for many years.  If asked, she would tell you her testimony was her music.

Preceded in death by father, Joseph J. Dudley, Mother Vera H. (Smith) Dudley, and husband of 47 years, Ernest C. Jones.

Survivors are sons, Charles Jones, Joseph Jones (Sandra), and daughter, Susan Foulk (Larry).  Grandchildren are Marcus Jones, Kimberly Jones, Hadley Foulk, Jana Jones, Ava Foulk, and Ephraim Foulk.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, 3:00 P.M. at Fincastle Cemetery with Rev. Steve Evans and Rev. Travis Dunn officiating.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: Fincastle Cemetery Fund, c/o Fincastle Methodist Church, 629 Old Middlesboro Hwy., LaFollette, TN 37766.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. JoAnn Dudley Jones.
