David Wayne Thompson, age 58 of LaFollette, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at his home. David was born on May 31, 1965.  He served as a deacon and trustee of Demory Baptist Church. David was a U.S. Army veteran, that enjoyed driving his tractor, mowing, bush hogging, antique shopping, and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his mother Delores (Broyles) Thompson.

David is survived by his father Mack Thompson of LaFollette; his loving wife of 24 years Galia Thompson of LaFollette; son Justin Thompson of LaFollette; daughter Mackenzie Thompson of LaFollette; brothers Jimmy Thompson of LaFollette, Travis Thompson of LaFollette, and Kevin Dagley of LaFollette; sister Kathryn Woods of LaFollette; dear friend and mentor Don Atherton; and several nieces, nephews, church family, and Pyro Shows family.

A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2023 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Danny Wilson and J.T. Asbury officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:15 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023, to go in funeral procession to Baker Forge Cemetery for an 2:00 PM graveside service with military honors given by the Campbell County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Feed the Hungry Love offering at Demory Baptist Church, 212 Wheeler Lane, LaFollette TN 37766.
