The woman in this car was pinned, freed and transported to a Knoxville hospital by way of a medical helicopter.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – One person was pinned in the wreckage of a head on collision on the four lane this afternoon, according to police. Soon after 4pm is when officials say one car was headed west in the slow lane and came across traffic hitting another car that was headed east into La Follette.

The driver of this car was being treated for a possible broken arm.

The driver of the west bound car was transported by Campbell County EMS to the Tommy C. Stiner Airfield where a medical helicopter airlifted her to a Knoxville hospital. The driver of the other car was being treated for injuries by First Responders from the La Follette Fire Department on the scene as another Campbell County EMS unit pulled up.

This vehicle was able to somewhat dodge the wreck suffering minor damage, according to police.

La Follette Police and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office responded. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/30/2023-5PM)
