JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Teachers make a difference in their students lives each and every day. For many students, having a teacher who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation. We’ve all had that teacher who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute all of our hard working educators with a weekly feature.

This week’s featured educator is Jacksboro Elementary School Pre-K teacher Gina Sharp! She is originally from White Oak and graduated college from the University of the Cumberlands. She and her husband Darrell have been married 25 years. They have two sons, Derrick and Dawson.

Gina Sharp is Eagle Tire Pros teacher of the week. She teaches Pre-k at Jacksboro Elementary School.

According to Sharp, she has always loved school and teaching and had multiple teachers help inspire her through education.

“I have been blessed with many wonderful, dedicated teachers in my lifetime,” Sharp said.

The person that inspired her the most is her mother Hazel.

“She has always encouraged me to reach my goals and dreams,” Sharp said.

Sharp began teaching Sunday School at White Oak Church of God when she was 17. She has also taught third grade, fifth grade, kindergarten and pre-k at Jacksboro Elementary School.

“Early Childhood Education has been my heart from day one. I love working with early learners and helping them achieve their goals. My favorite part about teaching will always be the children. They give me a reason to smile every day,” Sharp said.

Every Thursday, WLAF’s Charlotte Underwood features the WLAF – Eagle Tire Pros teacher of the week. That educator also receives a free oil change from Eagle Tire Pros.
