CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Yesterday afternoon the Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen met in a special called meeting with two items on the agenda.

The first item approved on the agenda was the second reading of Ordinance No. 2023-03 approving the annual operating budget for fiscal year 2023-24.

The next item on the agenda was approval of the proposal by Main Street Studio Architects at the May 8 workshop. The proposal detailed upgrades to the fire department, police department, library, front entry, administrative offices, kitchen, and bathrooms.

The fire department would have a two bay addition, making room for the police department to expand. The library could potentially expand and have a separate entrance. The proposal would allow for the administrative offices, kitchen, and bathrooms to be upgraded.

The council also approved the mayor to sign a formal agreement when it is presented by the architect to make improvements to the fire hall and the remainder of the city hall complex. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/31/2023-6AM)
