CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – One person was injured in a Jeep wreck in the Turley community of Campbell County late Sunday afternoon.

“We had an approximately 35-year old man who dropped a wheel off the side of the road, and the Jeep rolled down an embankment about 20 feet,” said Charles Hutson, Chief of the La Follette Rescue Squad.

Witnesses stated he lost consciousness briefly, according to the chief.

“He was alert and talking when we brought him up the bank,” said Hutson.

The patient was transported to a staging area at the Turley bridge at old Highway 63 and transferred to an ambulance. An Anderson County EMS unit took the man by ground ambulance to a Knoxville hospital, according to an official with Central Dispatch.
