Beginning at 11:36am, WLAF will present special programming looking back at the impact the station has had on the community. Connect to the Lindsay’s Carpet & Paint Center video player to watch.

From Smith “Smitty” Rea, who was on the air the first day WLAF went live, to current personalities that have become an integral part of the station we will celebrate being the county’s leading news source.

Starting as only a radio station in 1953, WLAF has grown through the years to include AM and FM stations, a television channel, can be seen on Roku, Firestick, Facebook, TwitchTV and YouTube along with a website that garners more than100,000 views a week.

HERE is a memorable story and wonderful recollection from one of WLAF’s many alums, Smith Rea, Jr. He’s affectionately known as Smitty. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 05/17/2023-6AM)
