LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Perhaps holding the Donate Life organ and tissue donation awareness event at La Follette Medical Center was only fitting since the hospital made history last year performing its first organ transplants.
“It was a wonderful event for a great cause. Patrick was born with a dysfunctional heart in 2021 and spent the first several months of his life in the hospital,” said Patrick’s father, Robby O’Daniel, Editor of the La Follette Press.
“People are selfless by giving bone marrow to save lives,” said Traci Price, mother of Jack, and wife of Campbell High Football Coach Justin Price. Jack battled leukemia and received a bone marrow transplant.

“Patrick takes seven different kinds of medicine daily, but he is a happy, energetic healthy boy. My wife, Olivia, and I are so grateful for the donor heart Patrick received, and we encourage everyone to sign up as an organ donor,” said Robby O’Daniel.
“I’m so thankful for Zach (Lloyd) organizing this event and shining the light on organ donations,” said Traci Price.

In addition, Patrick will be on immunosuppressant medication for the rest of his life. For the sake of kids like Patrick, be sure to follow medical instructions and receive all recommended vaccinations for you and your children,” added Robby O’Daniel.
