LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – After being struck by a car last week, a Jacksboro teenager continues recovering this morning at home. The 16 -year- old was airlifted from the scene of the accident, the Big Lots parking lot, last Tuesday evening. He was released from the hospital on Saturday.

In the LPD accident report, released to WLAF, it states that when Officer Jesse Ferguson arrived at 7:15pm, he saw a boy laying on his back and a white four-door Subaru car parked right in front of him.

This white car was involved in the accident, according to police.

The driver of the car, a 16- year- old boy, the injured boy’s best friend, according to family members, told Officer Ferguson that his friend was running across the parking lot, tripped and fell, and the brakes on the car locked causing him to strike the victim.
