CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Work continues at the northbound exit ramp of I-75 Exit 134 in Campbell County. According to TDOT Spokesperson Mark Nagi, the estimated completion date is Sept. 30, 2023.

The description of the project is the grading, drainage, signals and paving on I-75 (U.S. 25W) at the U.S. 25W (S.R. 9) (MM 134) interchanges, and signal upgrades on U.S. 25W (S.R. 9) at S.R. 116 (L.M. 32.18) in Caryville.

The contractor is J&M Grading Division, LLC, and the project cost is $2,976,489.00.

Completion on this project is more than six months away.

Nagi said signals will be upgraded at US 25W and SR 116. A longer exit ramp will be built to hold more traffic. Sensors are also being installed to determine when the exit ramp is getting near capacity that are linked to the signals allowing for less congestion on the off ramp. This will prevent traffic from backing up onto I-75. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/29/2023-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
