Ricky Jay Silcox, age 53, of the Tannery Hollow Community of Jellico, Tennessee, and Goshen, Indiana, passed away Wednesday evening, March 22,2023, at his home, after a long illness.

He was born on May 10, 1969, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Danny Ray Silcox and Donna (Hodges) Silcox, who survives.

He was the grandson of the late Paul Silcox and Ruth (Veach) Silcox and the late Walter Hodges and Dorothy (Hammond) Hodges.

Ricky attended Jellico High School.  He was a member of the Class of 1987.

In addition to his father and grandparents, he was preceded in death by six uncles, David Silcox, Robert Silcox, Gary Silcox, Larry Silcox, Walter “Dink” Hodges, and David Rose.

He is survived by his mother, Donna Silcox, of Jellico; two brothers, Danny Ray Silcox, II, and wife, Susan, of the Tannery Hollow Community, and Rev. Ronnie Joe Silcox, and wife, Rachelle, of Jacksboro.

He is also survived by his aunts, Donna Hollifield, and husband, Edd, of Caryville, Sara Hershberger, and husband, John, of Cleveland, OH, Judy Marlow, of Jellico, Cathy Rose, of Jellico, Carolyn Perkins, and husband, John, of Michigan, Dora Silcox, of Jellico, Mildred Silcox, of Jellico, and Elizabeth Silcox, of Goshen, IN, Katy (Hodges) Fleek, of North Bend, OH, and Carol Worley, of Western Hills, OH; uncles, Jerry Hodges, and wife, Barbara, of Lawrenceburg, IN, and Darrell Hodges, and wife, Mary, of Cleaves, OH; numerous cousins; two nieces, Jessica (Silcox) Stephens, and husband, Tony, and Tatum Silcox; two great-nephews, Braden Stephens and Easton Stephens, and a host of friends, neighbors, and other relatives to mourn his passing.

Private graveside services and interment were held on Thursday, March 23,2023, at 12:00 noon in the Douglas Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Joe Silcox officiating.

Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico is in charge of all arrangements.
