Flora Tydings is among the 2023 USA TODAY’s Women of the Year, and she paid a visit to TCAT at Jacksboro on Friday afternoon.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Flora Tydings is the first woman appointed as chancellor of the Tennessee Board of Regents. She is also the first woman in Tennessee history to lead a state higher education system. She was recently named one of the 2023 USA Today’s Women of the Year.

Tydings, who oversees 37 community and technical colleges in Tennessee, was on campus Friday afternoon at TCAT Jacksboro for a special presentation. She was on hand and Sen. Ken Yager fulfilled a fundraising promise to TCAT Jacksboro.
