JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- Two Campbell County School officials have been suspended following separate allegations.

On Friday, Campbell County High School Principal Ben Foust was suspended without pay following information that he was under a Department of Children’s Services investigation was reported to central office officials. The nature of those allegations has not been released yet. However, Foust has retained Greg Isaacs to represent him in the matter. Speaking with WLAF this morning, Isaacs said Foust “denies any wrongdoing” and the firm is conducting its own investigation.

This morning, CCHS Soccer Coach Jason Austin was also suspended. The allegations levied against Austin are “about 10 years old,” according to Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Cody Chapman. There is not a DCS investigation regarding Austin, Chapman said.

Criminal investigations by the CCSO are on going in both matters, according to Chapman.

Campbell County Director of Schools Jennifer Fields said the board has followed policy by suspending both men after the allegations came to light. In both cases, allegations were not brought to the school system, and Fields was only made aware after the CCSO opened separate investigations. These two incidents, while occurring at nearly the same time, are not related, she said.
