Robert Lee “Bobby” Carroll, age 76 of Rocky Top, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.  He was born on March 1, 1947, in Anderson County. He was an Army Veteran having served in both Vietnam and Desert Storm. Bobby was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service and sacrifice in Vietnam. He was a beloved member and deacon of Laurel Grove Baptist Church. He loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Bobby enjoyed taking his girls to the racetrack. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by father, PL Carroll, and wife Shirley; mother, Laura Relford Rang, and husband Vern; special uncle, Roy Carroll, and wife Audrey; and sister, Sherry Fox.

He is survived by: his beloved wife of 55 years, Shirley Fox Carroll; children, Lisa Pyle and husband Jackie; Tesha Towe and husband Dustin; grandchildren, Tyler, Chad, Sable, and Colby; sister, Pat Auger, and husband Terry; special friends, Audrey Goins and Clifford Harness; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

 The family will receive friends at the Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation on Friday, March 17, 2023, from 5-7 pm with the funeral service to follow at 7 pm with Rev. Jeff Hawkins, Rev. David White, and Rev. Danny Lawson officiating who were all special friends to Bobby. Graveside services will be on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11 am at Circle Cemetery in Briceville with full military honors presented by Campbell County Honor Guard. www.leachfamilyfuneralhome.com
