JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County planning commission met briefly Monday evening, approving several minor lot subdivisions.

First approved was a minor lot subdivision on Hiawassee View Drive for Blase and and Julie Sparma.

According to County Planner Jordan Rockwell, it is “basically changing the lot lines.” Rockwell recommended approval.

Also approved was a minor lot subdivision on Asbury Road for Trevor and Tamara Proffitt to build a secondary house. Approval was recommended by the county planner.

Finally approved was a minor lot subdivision for Patricia Greenwood on Queener Road. Rockwell recommended approval on this as well.

Campbell County Planning Commission approved several minor lot subdivisions on Monday evening. Planning Commission chair J.C. Miller and County Planner Jordan Rockwell at Monday’s Planning Commission meeting.

Discussion was supposed to take place regarding the preliminary plat for a major lot subdivision, Lakeside Estates, on Waterfront Trails and Pool Road out Ivey Hollow. There will be 40 plus lots located at the subdivision.

However, according to Rockwell, a public hearing must first take place and will be scheduled for May 1. The commission discussed this major lot subdivision around a year ago and had concerns regarding its septic system and “drip field.”

Planning commission member Rusty Orick asked where they were with the drip field.

According to Rockwell, the developer has been working with engineers “setting aside property to accommodate a 50 percent drip field.”

“It’s privately owned, but considered a public utility. As such, it is regulated by the state,” Rockwell said.

Planning commission members voted to table any more discussion and voting on the issue until the public hearing can be held. The exact time and date for this public hearing will be announced as soon as it is set, according to Rockwell. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/07/2023-6AM)
