LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Of the over 75 trees reported downed during Friday’s extreme weather event, one claimed a life. A La Follette man died from injuries sustained when a tree fell over striking him on his motorcycle, according to officials.

The tragic accident happened around 7pm Friday along Demory Road near the Dry Dock as 56- year- old Tony Wallace was fatally struck by the large tree, based on central dispatch records.

Services for Wallace are set for this evening.

Multiple agencies responded; the Campbell County Rural Fire Service, EMS, EMA and Sheriff’s Office along with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/06/2023-6AM)
