JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County High School’s Beta Club raised $2,000 for local elementary school libraries. The Beta Club presented the funds to the schools as part of the Read Across America event held last week.
In January, the CCHS Beta Club’s service project was selling Worlds Finest Chocolate candy bars.

“The idea was the money raised would be split between our elementary school libraries. It was a huge success!” According to CCHS teacher and Beta Club advisor Josh Parker.
The Beta Club executive committee came together to propose this idea of a fundraiser for the local libraries as its Winter service project.

“Our club bought in to this idea, and I’m so proud of them for their hard work and dedication to this,” Parker said.
On Thursday, to cap off Read Across America week, Parker and Beta Club members travelled to Caryville, Jacksboro, Valley View, and LaFollette elementary schools to present each with a $400 check to be used by their library for supplies they need. The Beta Club also sent a $400 check to Wynn Elementary school.

“All together, we were able to inject $2,000 into our local libraries. That is a win for everyone. We’ll done BETAS!” Parker said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/06/2023-6AM)
