JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Need help polishing up your resume’? Would you like some professional pointers on interviewing for a job? Until 2pm today, the opportunity is available right here in Jacksboro inside the mobile American Job Center. All you have to do is get onboard. The unit is parked at the courthouse. You can’t miss it. It’s right beside Main Street.

Specialist Stephen Jeter is here promoting the mobile career coach. To top it off, the service is free.

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development is proud to roll out our mobile American Job Centers . . . mobile units with services similar to what you might find in a brick and mortar American Job Center.  These vehicles will arrive on the scene to provide a mobile computer lab with Internet access; create a venue for workshops including résumé assistance and interviewing skills, and serve as a recruitment center for companies moving into our state. If we’re in your neighborhood, great things are happening on the job front, so get on board!

Each mobile American Job Center has computers, as well as copy and fax machines available to job seekers. The computers aboard the units are equipped with Microsoft Office software. Career Specialists are on board to provide assistance to job seekers with job searching, resumes, interviewing, as well as providing information about training/education opportunities. These tools are extremely valuable to market yourself to a potential employer. Instructors will use a large monitor and SMART board for basic instruction on computer hardware and software use, which are key components to applying for and retaining jobs today.  The computers have access to jobs available throughout the state that categorized by industry and are available for viewing HERE.
