Wlaf1450Dr. James Edward “Jim” Barrell, age 65 of Gray, TN passed away Friday, January 20, 2023. Jim was born in Glendale, CA, and earned his undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz and eventually found his way to Knoxville where he earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Rams, and Miami Dolphins. Preceded in death by Grandparents, Louis and Martzi Barrell, and Bill and Lena Langlais.
Survivors: Wife of 32 years, Lisa Ann Bevins Barrell; Mother, Celeste Silva and Husband, Tom; Father, James Joseph Barrell and Wife, Suzanne Sindledecker; Sister, Denise Barrell; Uncles, Gary Barrell and Leslie Langlais; Aunt, Mary Langlais.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at 5:00 P.M. at LaFollette United Methodist Church with Rev. Billy Kurtz officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 P.M., Sunday before services. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or at www.stjude.org.
