JELLICO, TN (WLAF) – Last week Campbell County Sheriff’s Det. Sgt. James McCall made a traffic stop on Highway 25 in front of the Windham Drug Store. That stop ended with an arrest on Feb. 1. McCall checked for warrants for the individual behind the wheel and learned there was an active warrant for his arrest. McCall placed the man, identified as Robert Anthony Stevens, under arrest.

Prior to transporting Stevens to the Campbell County Jail, McCall asked if he had anything illegal on him, and he allegedly said he had a “Suboxone pill that was prescribed to him,” according to a report from the sheriff’s department. McCall said he was never given the prescription card that accompanies this medication.

A silver metal container was found inside the coat pocket of Stevens coat. Inside the metal container was one small round pill and a clear cellophane package that had a white powder residue that Stevens allegedly said was from a crushed Suboxone pill.

Robert Anthony Stevens, 52, 69 Sukey Hollow Rd, Williamsburg, KY was charged with capias/bench warrant and possession of schedule III controlled substance. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/09/2023-6AM)
