LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The La Follette Owls win and move on in the postseason. Saturday at Rogersville, the Owls whipped the Johnson County Longhorns 52-29 in the opening round of the TMSAA Sectionals. La Follette ventures to Piegon Forge on Wednesday to play the Sentinels of Chattanooga Preparatory School. Start time is yet to be announced. La Follette improves to 18 & 5.

Coach Ken Weaver’s 17 & 5 La Follette Owls are ready to take their next step in the post season, and it comes this afternoon at Cherokee High at Rogersville. In the Sectionals, the Owls square off at 4:45pm against the Longhorns of Johnson County out of Mountain City.

La Follette made it to the Sectionals after winning Thursday’s TMSAA Area 2 Tournament at Kingston by a final of 44-39 over Oak Ridge Jefferson. Johnson County is out of Area 1 and is the third seed in the Sectional Tourney.

The Owls have a Saturday morning shoot around at 11, will have their pregame meal and head to Rogersville. Rogersville is a good 90-minute ride from La Follette.
