LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – An expired license plate prompted a pullover by police around lunch time last Thursday. The routine traffic stop resulted in an arrest.

Officer Anthony Mahar with LaFollette Police Department saw a white Chevrolet with expired tags, and Mahar stopped the vehicle on Long Hollow Rd. The officer requested that the driver, identified as Rodney Clark North, present his driver’s license. North allegedly told Mahar that he did not have a license, and dispatch confirmed that North’s license was revoked. According to a report from the LaFollette Police Department, dispatch advised Officer Mahar there was a warrant for North’s arrest from the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department.

According to the report, North was given a warning on the traffic violations and placed under arrest for the warrant.

North, 54, 201 Sugar Ridge Lane, La Follette, remains housed this morning in the Campbell County Jail on charges of driving on a revoked license, violation of TN financial law, violation of registration law, possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of schedule III controlled substance.
