LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – After the Ridgewood Bowling Lanes, once in the building across from David Bales Buick-GMC, closed in the early 1970s, a few years later another set of lanes opened.

In 1977, Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Hensley opened Canyon City Lanes. The new Canyon City Lanes was at 212 South Avenue, across the four land and railroad tracks from Gamble Motors. Canyon City Lanes provided a modern day center featuring a pro shop, snack bar, meeting room and game room.

In its first year, Canyon City Lanes had 17 leagues consisting of 104 players. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/26/2023-6AM)

It’s a shame we can’t have more family oriented events here for the residents.
