JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Lady Cougars game was somewhat of a preview of what was to come in the Cougars game on Monday on Brown Court, and that was an uphill climb. Campbell held a lead twice, 9-7, and 52-51. The last came with 2:50 to play, and it didn’t hold up after the Lady Cougars clawed back from an 18-point deficit second half deficit. Campbell appeared to be ready to win the game after taking the single-digit edge. However, Oneida came back to score the game’s final nine points to claim the 60-52 victory.

Three Lady Cougars posted double-figures as Emma Brandenburg finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Saylor Hutchison claimed high point honors with 16, and Carley Kitts scored all of her 11 markers after halftime. Bella Lester knocked down four points with three from Reagan Stanfill while Destiny Rutherford, starting for the injured Lacey Pemberton, added two points as did Reagan Davis.

Campbell is 7 & 10 and 1 & 1 in District 3-AAAA while Oneida improves to 12 & 4 still sitting atop District 3-A at 2 & 0. Next up for the Lady Indians is a Friday night home district game with Sunbright. Central visits Brown Gym Tuesday for a 6pm district showdown between Campbell and the Lady Bobcats. The Cougars and Central tip at 7:30pm while the JV game features the Cougars and Central at 4:30pm.
