LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Zach Lloyd was hospitalized for more than eight months and received a double lung transplant due to COVID. On May 11, 2021, he was released from Vanderbilt Medical Center and able to come home to a waiting crowd that lined the streets of LaFollette.

Good help is hard to find. The fellows moving the sign were supposed to move it without Zach knowing – not happening.

Since then he’s been busy living and spending time with his helpmate, Sara, and enjoying his daughter and son’s busy sports schedule.

Zach entered the fellowship hall at East LaFollette Baptist Church. He was totally surprised.

Along with returning to his position as the pastor at East LaFollette Baptist Church, Lloyd serves on the board of directors at the Campbell County Learning Center and works with a local mission outreach in Jellico.

Along with laughter, there were moments of reflection and thanks.

Today, Lloyd reaches another milestone in his life; he is turning 40. Sunday evening, his church family gave him a surprise birthday party to wish him a happy 40th birthday.  The evening included hugs, laughter and emotional moments along with some happy tears.

After Zach blew out the candles, Zach, being Zach, said “let’s eat.”
