LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It was there for the taking. The Campbell Lady Cougars came from behind in Wednesday’s semi-final game against Concord Christian at the Berean Christmas Tournament. Despite having the lead and the ball with 80-seconds to play, the Lady Cougars fell in overtime 47-43.

Lacey Pemberton was the leading scorer for Campbell with 11 followed by nine points from Saylor Hutcheson. Emma Brandenburg and Bella Lester each tallied eight points. Destiny Rutherford came off the bench to add five while Carley Kitts posted a couple of points.

The Lady Cougars return to the hardwood this afternoon at 1:00 in the Chris Lindsay Berean Christmas Tournament. Campbell, 6 & 9, plays for third place when it faces the Grace Baptist Academy Golden Eagles out of Chattanooga.

The 7 & 6 Cougars return to game action on Tue., Jan. 3, at Huntsville. It’ll be a double header with Scott, and WLAF will have the live telecast.
