LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A seemingly light agenda is ahead for Tuesday’s City of La Follette Workshop. It begins at 5:30pm at City Hall.
Several items are up for discussion at the workshop including talk of making the narrow street, Cherry Street, a one way street. Included in the talks is to remove the portion of South 5th Street (Depot Street, according to maps) between the one time tennis courts at Main Street Shell and West Beech Street. The thought with the removal of this portion of Depot Street is to level the area and connect Seargeant Park and Liberty Park.

Other Additions (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 12/26/2022-6AM)
Unless I’m way off the mark, I believe that removing Depot Street would return that area to it’s pre-railroad condition of a single draw, where old maps show that a branch flowed freely through both areas that later became parks. Am I wrong?
I believe west elm st. Should also be a one way st.almost impossible for two cars to pass dangerous.
