Juanita Duncan Young, age 74 of LaFollette went to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 15, 2022.  She attended Grace Missionary Baptist Church and loved all of her church family. 

She is preceded in death by father, Jimmie Lee Duncan, sister, Della Duncan, niece Elizabeth Lindsey, and infant son, Matthew Duncan Johnson. 

Survivors include husband Ronnie C. Young of LaFollette.  Son, Dr. Donovan Johnson and wife Brittany, daughter, Allyson Williams and husband Brian.  Mother, Cora Lea Duncan.  Sisters, Fay Ledford (Jeff), Lena Testo (Danny), Lois Lindsey (John), Patsy Wright, Dinah Bilyeu (Gary), Thelma Marlow (Michael), and Karla Duncan. Grandson Skylar Poston (Taylor) and great-grandson baby Jamison on the way, Stone Johnson (Jesse).  Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins and special friend Molly Ivey.

She was born and raised in the New River community.  She attended Lake City HIgh School and Rosedale Elementary.  She worked at Imperial Reading Shirt Factory and DeRoyal Industries before retiring.  She fought many battles in her life including breast cancer.  She never met a stranger and was a friend to many.  She loved to garden, sew, and collect many things. 


Family and friends will be meeting Monday, December 19, 2022, from 1:30-2:30 at Martin Wilson’s Funeral Home in LaFollette.  Interment will follow at Bakers Forge Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-7:00 on December 19, 2022 at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in LaFollette with a funeral service to follow with Rev. Brian Williams officiating. 


The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a cancer society or charity of your choice.
