CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – The call of the pursuit of a stolen vehicle in Anderson County came in to Campbell County Central Dispatch this morning at 4:08.

Anderson authorities relayed to Campbell dispatch that they were in pursuit of a stolen gray Jeep Renegade that entered I-75 at Exit 122 headed northbound. A Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy was alerted, and plans were quickly put in place to stop the Jeep.

The Central Dispatch operator called off the play-by-play of the Jeep as it made its way north; Mile Marker 125, now at MM 128 at 4:10. When the Jeep crossed the Campbell County line by 4:12am, the deputy notified dispatch that he was going to set up spikes at MM 137, just north of Caryville. Given that, Anderson County backed off its pursuit at 4:13.

It was about a 10-minute ordeal from start to finish for Campbell authorities as the Jeep ended up stopping after hitting the spikes at 4:18am at MM 139. There were no injuries with minor damage to another vehicle, according to Central Dispatch. Traffic was temporarily hampered until the scene was secured and cleared.
