Peggy Ann (Hicks) Autery, age 82, of Middletown, Ohio, formerly of the Whitman Hollow Community of La Follette, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 7, 2022, at the Hospice of Dayton, Ohio.

She was born on October 25, 1940, to the late Lewis Thomas Hicks and Alvis Evelyn (Lester) Hicks in the Block Mountain Community of Campbell County, TN.

Peggy enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, sewing, crafts, and decorating.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Autery; brother, Tommy Hicks; and sister, Rosie Henderson.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald Swearingin, Jr., and wife, Theresa, of Clarksville, OH, and Allen Swearingin, and wife Deborah, of Middletown, OH; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Betty Gay, and husband, Earl, Charlee Pergram, and husband, Ray, Shelby Gay, and husband, Ed, Brenda Lawson, and Charlotte Hicks; one brother, Jerry Hicks; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends, neighbors, and other relatives to mourn her passing.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 11:00a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Cox & Son Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral will immediately follow on Monday afternoon, December 12, 2022,at 1:00 p.m. at the Cox & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Trey Brock officiating.

Interment will follow in the Douglas Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the charity of your choice in Peggy’s memory.

Cox & Son Funeral Home of Jellico is in charge of all arrangements.
