Rev. Herman Carlo Bruce, age 89 of LaFollette passed away Monday, December 5, 2022.  Rev. Bruce began Ministering in 1964, and in 1981 founded Faith Way Assembly of God where he served as Senior Pastor until 2001.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. Rev. Bruce was a banjo and mandolin maker, and was an accomplished singer, songwriter, and musician.  He was formerly employed with General Motors, worked for a time in Coal Mining, and was furniture maker.  On July 3, 1955, he married the love of his life, Mrs. Hazel Baird Bruce, who he affectionately called “My Princess”.  Rev. Bruce was a great story-teller, but most importantly, He was a Man of God who had a great love for his family, especially his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. In addition to his Wife, he is preceded in death by Infant Daughter, Lori Ann Bruce, and an Infant Son, Son-in-law, Jim Holsemback, Parents, Garrett F. and Margaret Ann Bruce, Brothers, Willie (Blue) Bruce, Raymond Bruce, Floyd Bruce, Ted Bruce, and Ray Bruce, and Sisters, Willie Bruce Hicks and Jessie Bruce Hicks.

Survivors: Son, Rev. Steve Bruce and wife, Rhonda; Daughters, Missy Bruce Holsemback, and Amy Bruce Reese; Grandchildren, Whitney Alderman and husband, Lukus, Andrew Bruce, Kayleigh Reese, Daniel Holsemback and Wife, Nicole, and Garrett Reese and Wife, Katelyn; Great-Grandchildren, Eden Alderman and Kaenen Alderman, and Great-Granddaughter on the way, Laurel Holsemback; Brothers, Bishop Delmus Bruce and Wife, Rose, Vernon Bruce and Wife, Donna, Ed Bruce and Wife, Lois, and Bay Bruce.

Funeral Services Wednesday, December 7, 2022, 7:00 P.M. at Faith Way Assembly of God with Grandsons, Bishop Garrett Reese, Rev. Andrew Bruce, and Daniel Holsemback officiating.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday before funeral services.  Family and friends will meet Thursday, December 8, 2022, 10:30 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Powell Valley Cemetery for 11:00 A.M. Graveside Services and Interment with Son, Rev. Steve Bruce officiating.  Military Honors will be conducted by the Campbell County Honor Guard. The Bruce family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to: Faith Way Assembly of God, P.O. Box 1602, LaFollette, TN 37766.
