CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF) – There are several events that happen around town each week, and I’m keeping you in the loop about what’s going on in our neck of the woods. Each week, I will share local happenings, and you’ll be up-to-speed. Campbell County preacher’s fellowship service for the month of December will be hosted by Bear Wallow Missionary Baptist Church , Caryville, TN on Monday December 5th, 2022. 7:00 p.m. Pastor Jerry Foust, church membership, and CCPF membership welcomes everyone to this great and glorious fall jubilee meeting with spirit filled choir and special singing along with the precious King James preaching of God’s holy, divine, inherent, infallible, pure, authentic, unadulterated word of god preached in its truth, power, and purity without any reservation to man, woman, boy, or girl. So everyone come out to a blessed evening of fellowship and bring a friend and lost sinner and witness the holy ghost in action.

Thank the sister’s of Bear Wallow Missionary Baptist Church that will serve the fellowship a scrumptious, delicious, and blessed meal after the service, mark your calendar for Monday December 5th,  7:00 p.m.

Commodity distributions are scheduled in early December for Campbell County. That’s Tuesday, December 6, at the Jellico Library at 104 N Main Street from 8:30am – 11:30am or until the food is gone. The other distribution is on Wednesday, December 7, at the La Follette Community Center, the former West La Follette School) on 300 West Beech Street from 8:30am until 3pm (lunch break from noon to 1:30pm) or until the food is gone. At La Follette, commodities will be distributed during the hours of 8:30am noon and then from 1:30 until 3:00pm or until the food is gone.  The staff will break for lunch from noon to 1:30pm.

Postmark Happenings – The following is a list of events recently released from Postmark LaFollette

Through November 30 – Footprints & Imprints on display at Postmark LaFollette 119 S. Tennessee Avenue.  10-2 M,Th,Fri, & Sat Free to the public, encouraging all home school programs  to take advantage of the exhibit.  This exhibit was produced by Postmark LaFollette through funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities S.H.A.R.P. grant, which is Sharing the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan.  

December 10 – Old Fashioned Christmas Music event – 6 to 8 p.m. tickets $8  Available for purchase at Postmark on M, Th, Fri,  Sat.  10-2 or Online at www.postmarklafollette.weebly.com on our payment page.  Tickets purchased online will be able to be picked up on the evening of the 10th.  

December 14 – Social Media learning session.  10 a.m. to noon.  How to use our social media to help promote your product or business.  So many use these sites, but not sure how they can be utilized better.    Instructors, Patrick Peebly from the Volunteer Times and Lee Leatherwood from Manahouse coffee will share their knowledge.  Bring your phone, laptop or iPad and questions.  $5 fee paid at time of session.  Email to postmarklafollette@gmail.com to reserve a space.   

December 21 – Postmark ARTShine Co-op will be open from 10 a.. to 6 p.m. for last minute Christmas shopping for gifts from the heart, all hand made.   The Bolinger Sisters, Rachel and Sarah will be providing a lovely musical background  from noon to 3 p.m.  Come and enjoy some Hot Cider or Chocolate and some goodies to taste and purchase while enjoying some time to sit and relax while shopping and wrapping those gifts you purchased. 

Campbell County Public Schools Lunch Menu for December

Campbell County is honored to host the Bass Pro High School Series Fishing Tournament.. Campbell County Lonas Young / White Bridge Park will be the first stop & proudly kicks off the 2022-23 Season. 225 -250 Boats expected. South East Regions top fishing teams will be represented expect local traffic delays in the area.

  4. Mathew- many thanks for a splendid idea. Looking forest to seeing much of our wonderful community at Z I’ve Lake State Park on Sat Sept 24 for the 15th Louie Bluie Festival. Bring a mandolin or fiddle and jam at the Jamming Tent!!

  5. Outstanding work. Having ‘community bulletin board’ where we can all go to one space to see the events that are going on in our community is so needed. Thanks for taking on the task and making it a useful, successful tool in a media site that so many already rely on for their daily updates on what’s happening in our community.
