JELLICO, TN (WLAF) – Last Saturday night, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Jacob Fox went to 346 Wooldridge Pike in Newcomb for a welfare check on the homeowner. Fox this was also the address of Jimmy Cupp, and there was an active warrant for Cupp’s arrest.

At 8:45pm Fox spoke to the homeowner who allowed him to come inside to find Cupp. When the deputy found Cupp, he allegedly noticed a small bag with a crystalline substance and glass pipe sitting on a tote next to the couch. Fox was informed by the homeowner that prior to answering the door, Cupp had been sitting there, and that was also where he slept, according to a report from the sheriff’s department.

Cupp denied knowing about the substance stating that multiple people had been there that day, and it must have been one theirs. Cupp was placed under arrest and transported to the Campbell County Jail.

Cupp, age 54, of 246 Wooldridge Pike, Jellico was charged with violation of probation from General Sessions Court, possession of schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Cupp will appear in court on Nov. 29. In the meantime, he remains housed in the Campbell County Jail this morning on a $62,000 secure bond. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/18/2022-6AM)
