Mrs. Janice Alred age 79 of LaFollette passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022.  She was of the Baptist Faith.  Janice enjoyed fishing and bird watching while living so close to Norris Lake.  Janice along with her Husband, John, operated Whitman Hollow Boat Dock for several years in the 80’s.  Janice was preceded in death by Husband, John L. Alred, Parents, Hughie and Pearl Lena Brown Rhodes, Step-Daughter, Renee Alred, Grandson, Wayne Coker, and Brothers, Leonard Newell Cox and Randall Rhodes.

Survivors include: Children, Rhonda Powell (Mike), Cynthia Coker (Jay); and David Montgomery (Sheila); Step-Children, Mike Alred (Luz), Sabrina Alred, Johnny Alred, and Bruce Alred (Toby); Grandchildren, Michael Powell (Amanda), Samantha Powell (Hunter), Anthony Coker (Brian), Josephine Montgomery, Landry Jennings, and Amelia Jennings; Several Great-Grandchildren; Sisters, Joyce McCarty, Linda Johnson (Bill), and Shirley Allen; Brother, Ledvard (Chuck) Rhodes.  Janice leaves numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her loss. 

Funeral Services Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 7:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roger Hatmaker officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday before funeral services.  Family and friends will meet Thursday, November 17, 2022, 10:30 A. M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Woodward Cemetery for 11:00 A.M. Graveside Services and Interment.
