LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – With the support of the AARP Tax  Aide Foundation, AARP is once again offering free tax preparation and filing services at the Campbell County Senior Center in 2023 for the 2022 tax year. The center is on South 8th Street at East Central Avenue.

Although this service is targeted for the area seniors, it is not limited to them. AARP Tax Aide volunteers are fully trained and certified under IRS guidelines and rules.

“Like years past, tax preparation services will be available beginning in February 2023,” said Bill Kobus, Location Coordinator for the AARP Tax Aide program in Campbell County.

AARP is also looking for volunteers who would like to help with tax preparation for the coming season. Free training will be provided in order to pass the IRS required test and certification. There are openings for help in La Follette and Knoxville, and reasonable expenses will be reimbursed.
