CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – There was an impressive turnout Thursday evening at the Cherry Bottom Baptist Church. Campbell County Sheriff Wayne Barton held his first Neighborhood Crime Watch meeting for community residents there in a 6pm gathering.

“The Crime Watch program is to provide an opportunity for open communication between the public and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office,” said CCSO Deputy Glennis Monday, Neighborhood Watch Coordinator.

This was just the first such meeting, according to the sheriff. “We’re going to continue to have these meetings across the county,” said Deputy Monday.

“Thank you, Sheriff Barton and officers. It was a great meeting, and I was very happy to see all the residents there in support of reducing crime in our community. Very much appreciate the help and support,” said one attendee.
