CARYVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – After Thanksgiving comes a series of “special days.” Black Friday.  Small business Saturday.  Cyber Monday.  And, since 2012, Giving Tuesday.

Giving Tuesday was created as a simple idea:  a day to encourage people to do good.  This event has sparked international attention, and charities of all different sizes now use the day to spark support and donations to their cause.

Now, a local charity is using the day as an opportunity to gain traction for their project. Earlier this year, a group of young people came together to tackle one of Campbell County’s largest community led projects ever – an inclusive playground that will be located right off the Caryville exit.

The organizing group says that “every park in our community was built with able-bodied children in mind.  Very little consideration was ever given to those children who may have a disability.  We believe that every child deserves the chance to play, regardless of ability level, and know that they truly matter.”
